It's difficult to disagree with Fitbit's popularity, since the business makes some of the top fitness trackers and smartwatches for both Android and iOS users. Fitbit is the de facto option for many since it works flawlessly with both platforms.
Fitbit will continue to function independently, at least for the time being, despite Google's recent acquisition. And now is an excellent moment to get a new Fitbit, as the firm has recently introduced some amazing trackers and smartwatches.
While the Fitbit Charge remains a fan favourite, the Fitbit Sense is the company's most functional and flexible wristwatch to yet. So, if you've just gotten a new Fitbit and need to get things set up, what should you do? We'll walk you through setting up Fitbit on your Android phone.
The first thing you'll undoubtedly want to do after receiving your Fitbit is put it on your wrist and go to work. However, you must link it with your Android phone of choice in order to keep track of your fitness data and exercises. The process is straightforward, and it's much simpler if you've already had a Fitbit and already have an account.
* Go to the Google Play Store and download the Fitbit app. Tap Join Fitbit if you don't already have one.
* Select Log In if you already have an account.
* Select the Fitbit tracker for which you are creating an account.
* Connect your Fitbit to the charger.
* Enter the four-digit code shown on the display of your Fitbit.
* Press the Next button.
* Choose your Wi-Fi network from the drop-down menu.
* Put your Wi-Fi password in here.
* To conclude the setup, follow the on-screen instructions.
You'll be invited to download the most recent software update for your Fitbit throughout the fitbit setup process. You won't be able to avoid this, so be sure you'll be connected to your Wi-Fi for at least 15 minutes. You may download the update using your cellular connection, but it will take significantly longer.
While the update is downloading, you may use the Fitbit app to see a succession of displays. These will guide you through the Fitbit's different features and settings to familiarise you with it before the upgrade is completed. For the time being, you may ignore those and continue to use your phone as the update downloads in the background. Fitbit recommends, however, that you keep your phone and tracker/smartwatch close together until the update is complete.
